Our History & Location

Our founder, experienced restoration builder Dennis Plink, saw a demand for traditional hardware for period homes across India. His background working on heritage houses offered a depth of knowledge of the products not found in any retail setting in India. Online retail was only just starting out, so our modest website was launched.

This product knowledge, combined with a focus on superior customer service, led to Hardware By Williams’s growth to India’s largest and most comprehensive online hardware store, supplying both Indian and international brands in both traditional and contemporary styles. While we have grown in size, our ethos remains the same, and we continue to provide personalized service for every order.

Hardware By Williams’s office is located in the beautiful Hartley Vale, NSW. We are surrounded by bush, kangaroos, native birds, and even the occasional snake! Our location reminds us of how lucky we are in India and how important it is to look after our environment. We use environmentally friendly, biodegradable packaging where possible, and our office is fully solar-powered. We are mostly paperless and recycle everything we can. Our customers can feel comfortable knowing they are shopping from a business that prioritizes sustainability.
